Therapeutic

Arts Collective

An Original Medicine Project

Where creativity meets healing. Where expression becomes medicine.

What happens when a group of therapists, artists, bodyworkers, musicians, and facilitators gather—not to teach, fix, or perform—but to co-create? To enter a shared space where healing and art flow together, where new forms emerge, and where the act of making becomes an act of transformation?

The Therapeutic Arts Collective is a creative collaboration of professionals and practitioners who believe in the power of the arts to heal. It’s for those who live at the intersection of therapeutic presence and artistic expression—people who know that beauty, rhythm, movement, and imagination are vital tools for growth and change.

Whether you're a counselor who paints, a massage therapist who sings, or a psychotherapist who finds inspiration through dance or sculpture, this is a space for you to bring your full self—your skills, your story, your creative edge—and join others in exploring what wants to be made, together.

A Season of Co-Creation

Over several months, we will gather in a welcoming, artful space—a dedicated house and land-based venue in Calgary’s Beltline area. This will be our home for a season of exploration, connection, and creativity. Through weekly sessions, open studio time, and spontaneous collaborations, we’ll listen, play, and build something meaningful—from the ground up.

This is a working studio, a living collaboration, a shared experiment in what healing arts can become when we blur the lines between:

  • Therapist and artist

  • Practitioner and participant

  • Structure and improvisation

  • Healing and creation

Together, we will:

  • Create a dynamic space where visual art, sound, movement, and ritual are welcomed as valid therapeutic languages.

  • Discover what emerges when different modalities and perspectives collaborate in real time.

  • Share inspiration, tools, and creative insight with one another, expanding both personal and professional capacities.

  • Co-create public experiences—offerings, installations, or events—to be shared with the community in the fall, born from the work we do together.

BEGIN THE PROCESS NOW…

  • This is more than a project. It’s an opportunity to:

    • Reconnect with your creative source

    • Be part of a supportive, imaginative community

    • Explore new dimensions of your therapeutic or artistic practice

    • Restore your own energy through play, expression, and co-creation

    • Feel the deep satisfaction of making something that matters

You don’t have to be a professional artist, or even consider yourself “creative” in the traditional sense. What matters is your willingness to explore, your openness to collaborate, and your desire to be part of something alive and real.

  • We are inviting a small, intentional group of people who:

    • Are professionally trained in a therapeutic, somatic, or healing field (e.g., counseling, psychotherapy, massage therapy, physiotherapy, bodywork, psychology, expressive arts therapy, etc.)

    • And who also have a creative practice or curiosity—whether that’s music, painting, movement, storytelling, cooking, gardening, soundwork, design, or more

We are especially interested in individuals with skills or interest in areas such as:

    • Music, rhythm, and sound

    • Visual arts, mural-making, and mixed media

    • Dance and movement-based practices

    • Gardening, natural design, and permaculture

    • Food and sensory hospitality

    • Space-making, set design, and creative construction

You don’t need to be “the best.” You just need to be yourself—open, engaged, and ready to create something meaningful in a collective container.

    • Weekly gatherings starting in September

    • A supportive environment where each person contributes and receives

    • Open time for personal exploration and group collaboration

    • A culminating offering or experience for the public, shaped by the group

    • A chance to reconnect with your own creativity and sense of possibility

This is not a training. It’s not a performance. It’s not therapy in the traditional sense.
It’s a creative sanctuary, a collective studio, a place where healing and beauty are made by hand, heart, and imagination.

    You may come to discover:
“I didn’t just help create something powerful—I was changed by it.”
